Spanky had a heart of gold and will of steel. It was love at first sight when he was just 6 weeks old. We had so much fun over the past 7 1/2 years. Spanky finished his championship swiftly at 7 months of age and went on to be an Award of Merit winner at Westminster and a group placer - all owner handled. Spanky starred in a national Burger King commercial, posed for Avanti greeting cards, and modeled in books and ads. His most important role was being our constant companion. He gave us so much love, joy and laughter right till the very end. He was diagnosed with a heart tumor in August of 2007 and given a very poor prognosis. Not only did he survive it for 16 months, he lived well....really well. He has taught us to have faith in God, and to have hope even when there seems to be none. He was our own special miracle.
